77mm to 144mm MICRO QUAD FRAMES

If you have any questions about a particular design here, feel free to email me. Basically this store is just a service to make available to other quad enthusiasts a few frames, a few bits and pieces, and some experimental frames from time to time.

    CF793 frame for H8 mini FC
    $ 5.92

    EDIT: April 24 2016 - from now on all Armattan Productions frames will be cut from MATTE FINISH carbon fibre. When you order this frame, it will come in matte finish, not glossy as specified above.

    93mm diagonal frame in 1.5mm carbon fiber, designed for the H8 mini FC but will take other FC's.

    Motor hole size is 7.0mm, weighs 2.35gm. Build pics:



    Suggested PID's to start with if using the silverxxx firmware:

    float pidkp[PIDNUMBER] = { 11e-2, 11e-2, 8e-1 };
    float pidki[PIDNUMBER] = { 9e-1, 9e-1, 4e-1 };
    float pidkd[PIDNUMBER] = { 5.5e-1, 5.5e-1, 4e-1 };

     

    EDIT 30th May 2016 - it appears the newer H8 mini's are being shipped with a new blue pcb and this blue pcb is now flashable with the silverxxx H8 mini blue firmware. There are reports that the white H8 mini from Banggood is still being shipped with the green pcb. The blue pcb (and the H101 pcb) have an on-board battery connector, so if you want to mount the pcb on top of the frame, the battery connector will have to be removed and flying battery leads fitted. Alternatively the pcb could be spaced higher above the frame for connector clearance, or the pcb can be mounted underneath the frame, which also makes the LED's more visible (especially for night flying).

    I tuned a friends CF793 recently that was identical to mine except the Syma 7mm motors were from a different manufacturer. We ended up with these PID's, very different to the settings on my frame listed above. Therefore expect some trial and error to find the right settings for your quad.

    CF677 frame for H8 mini FC

    77mm diagonal frame in 1.0mm carbon fiber, designed for the H8 mini FC. This frame size is the same size as a H8 mini, and is designed to take a flashed H8 mini green or blue pcb (FC), also the H101 and H8S 3D FC will fit (they are the same size and shape). The H101 and H8S 3D allow 3D flying. There is more info below on custom firware for the FC.

    Motor size 6mm, weighs 1.27gm. The build in the links below weighs 12.7gm without battery. Build pics:



    For PID tuning, if using the silverxxx firmware, start with default settings minus 15%. When you get the rates/acro mode tuned, if you still have oscillations in level mode, reduce the Kp term in angle_pid.c by up to 50% or as required.

    CF677 Rev 1 for H8 mini FC

    Quad frame in 1mm CF for 6mm brushed motors and H8 mini FC. New motor hole size is 5.85mm vs the 6mm motor hole size of the original CF677 currently for sale. Side lugs for rubber bands were added after a suggestion by RCGroups member Denovich (thank you!). This frame has not been checked and built as far as I know, so buy it at your own risk, it is listed at cost price. The design is near identical to the other CF677 frame.

    BEWARE - if you buy this frame the 6mm motors you have will not just slide in, you will have to remove approximately 3 thousandths of an inch (0.07mm) from the inside of the motor mount holes to achieve the motor fit that you want. Suggested tools/methods are a fine round file, or 400 wet and dry sandpaper wrapped around a pen or suitable sized wooden dowel rod. Beware of carbon fibre dust, it is bad for your lungs. Do it under a running tap or use suitable protective gear.

    Quad frame in 1.5mm CF for 7mm brushed motors and 93mm diagonal motor to motor distance. It is designed to take a H8 mini blue or green FC, or the H101 FC, with silverxxx firmware which gives level and acro modes and the ability to tune the PID's. Side lugs for rubber bands were added at the suggestion of RCGroups user Denovich (thank you!), and motor hole size reduced from 7.0mm to 6.9mm for a firmer motor fit. It is expected to have to sand out the motor holes a little bit to fit the motors. Be careful though as the difference between too tight and too loose is very little.
