INSPIRATION FOR THE DESIGN

The hornet 220 evolved out of a desire to get rid of a lot of useless empty space that I saw in my friends and personal frames. This wasted space lead to frames that were unnecessarily large and therefore had more drag and overall just spoiled their potential performance. After trying many ideas through 3D modeling software I settled on a design that had a compact electronics stack mounted right behind the FPV camera. The electronics stack was also not compromised to make it smaller, it is composed of a PDB/OSD, full size flight controller, receiver and FPV transmitter. The design resulted in a main body that was half the length of many race quads. Four prototypes later with slight design alterations I ended up with the frame that I now call the Hornet 220. Follow the design on the RCgroups thread (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2723855)
