Description
Cuts like a knife. Flies like butter. Enter the Balisong.
Balisong 56 has undergone some minor revision for 2019. It now features 3 mounting holes for the motors and the top plate lip has been lengthened. As the name implies, the Balisong 56 uses hybrid configuration using both 5 and 6 inch arms and has been optimized for 5.1" props (you can run up to 5.5"). The frame weight is around 50g and makes it ideal for ultralight builds that use 2204 or 180x motors. Sub-300g AUW is easily achievable using microstacks, ultralight motors and either 850mah 4s or 550mah 6s lipo.
Like the previous Balisong Frame, it uses the split Z configuration for cleaner air for the rear props without necessarily lengthening the frame as in the case for most stretched x frames and features 4mm wide arms for low thrust loss and drag. This combination of low weight and low drag makes this frame one of the most efficient in the market allowing you to downsize the motors and batteries.
It can use both 20x20 and 30x30 stacks at the same time and batteries can be mounted either top or bottom. The frame is designed to be compatible with floss 3d printed mounting solutions that use 30.5mm spacing.
Note: Due to differing tolerances, filing the press nut holes may be required.
