Make the Shift
Introducing Phoenix Multirotors' first micro offering: the Shift! This is a true-X frame designed to spin 3 inch props using the Runcam Micro Swift and 20 x 20mm flight controllers. The idea of the Shift is to take the tried-and-true "pod" layout and bring it to the micro scene. The camera pod is set to 40 degrees of tilt for fast forward flight with full camera protection.
The Shift uses a true-X format to keep things tight while retaining a consistent feel across pitch, roll, and yaw.
With micro components such as cameras and flight boards improving and becoming more common, the overall size of the frame was able to be shrunk down to a more compact size saving weight.
Rather than using standard M3 holes to mount the arms, the Shift incorperates a dual slot design allowing a reduction in both weight and drag while retaining strength. In the rare occurence of an arm breaking, only a single bolt needs to be removed to replace an arm to keep you off the bench and the in the air.
Additional Information
Note: The standoffs may need to be sanded down to 19mm to perfectly fit the camera but is not always necessary.
