VSA Gallery

After trying out more than 8 of the existing frames in the market, ranging from 135mm to 330mm size frames, all of them which were great frames but somehow I always felt that they were not able to meet all my preferences.

My personal preference was something smaller than 250mm while still being able to fly with a well protected gopro, flying with a gopro mounted on the top plate of a quad always had me worried as it felt pretty exposed to me. I also enjoyed building my quads and was always looking for a versatile frame that would allow me to build different configurations with it to suit different purposes instead of just one.

Thus I embarked on the project of designing my own frame, it may not be the fastest frame or best looking frame out there, but it should cater to fellow hobbyist who prefers more space and protection on their quads.

VSA 198mm Frame with GoPro Cage

Price : $ 75.72

Propeller size : None

Description

  1. At the moment, the smallest quadcopter frame with front Gopro cage.
  2. Allows versatile builds: Optional front and back 3mm arm skids (stronger arms vs lighter/faster build). Top Back Plate can be used as Top Front Plate if gopro cage is not needed and a top mounted HD cam is preferred.
  3. The front and tail of the Bottom plate has same layout of mounting and standoff holes so that the front and tail of the bottom plate can be used interchangeably.
  4. The top back plate has several spare m3 mounting holes/ horizontal slot to easily secure your fpv cam bracket or 3d printed mount with screws or zip ties.
  5. Takes up to 4 inch props max.

Additional Information

Diagonal Motor to Motor distance is ~198mm.

Able to mount 2204 motors and 1806 motors.

Smaller Cousin of the VSA228 and 238. RCG Link here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2545621

Will upload actual photo of frame when it arrives from Armattan Productions. Current photo is of the VSA228, where you can see the different configurations.

Main difference between VSA198 and 228 is the merge of top mid and back plate into a single piece and the reduction in MTM from 228mm to 198mm so that it is a much more compact build for 4 inch props with gopro cage.
