Kestrel Quads

7 inch v tail - kit with spares

Price : $ 121.14

Propeller size : None

Description

So here we have it - this V-Tail is born from the vision of Skull333 from RC-Groups. The price is clearly quite high but there is good reason for this A) Skull and myself agreed what he would pay for the model B) I do not wish to sell for less than what he paid C) Skull is also recieving renumeration for this.

Its a combination of the F1 series from Armattan and the original V-Tails that can be purchased direct from Armattan.

This is the leviathon of quads, ~210 grammes bare frame without battery, ready to haul 7" props, and if you're brave enough, run 6S as Skull does.

This is not designed to be an acro freestyle machine, call it more of a fast crusier and a crowd scarer. You are likely to need to run your battery further forwards due to the centre of gravity being off. This will require you having to run a strap through the strap slots and also around the front arms (centre section).

This kit includes these parts:

  • Cam Braces x 2 - Slot into the lower and top plate designed for the HS1777.
  • Rubber Dimes - Used in Cam Braces.
  • Thumb Screws - Used in Cam Braces.
  • Hardware Washers (Nylon) used in the rubber dimes, optional requirement.
  • Hardware scews M2 x 5mm used for screwing into the HS1777 in the rubber cam dimes.
  • Sunk Nuts - 2 off used in sunk nuts. 10 off used in the strengthening plate.
  • CF Pieces - 3 x arms, 1 x rear section 3 x rear arms and 2 x top plate. (You get a spare front, rear, top plate and also strengthening plate - non sunk nut version)
  • Hardware Screws 16 x M3 x 10mm screws used for connecting standoffs to the top and bottom plates.
  • Hardware Screws 10 x M3 x 8mm screws used for the sandwich plates screwing into the sunk nuts.
  • Hardware Screws 4 x M3 x 12mm screws used for V-Tail adapter.
  • Hardware Screws 4 x M3 x 12mm screws for rear arms to V-Tail adapter.
  • Hardware Nyloc Nuts 4 x M3 for rear arms to V-Tail Adapter.
  • Hardware Nyloc Nuts 4 x M3 for V-Tail adapter.
  • Standoffs - 8 off used for connecting top and bottom plates together.
  • Nylon FC spacers + the appropriate nylon screws.

You will need to purchase this from Armattan Quads - http://www.armattanquads.com/v-tail-rear-adapter/ to be able to complete the V-Tail.

The frame will also accept this LED - http://www.armattanquads.com/f1-led/

You will need to source your own motor screws, and also use the HS1777 camera or similar.

The nylon hardware screws are likely to need a trimming, simple enough with some pliers :)

A build video will detail where the parts go - its very short and mocked up in CAD - i don't have space for a monster this size!

In order to launch this you will need to bottom mount the battery or perch it onto something so that the propellers clear the ground. Motors must be mounted on the underside of the rear arms.

Skulls video can be found here (Building) he wasn't meant to ream out the sandwich plate holes for sunk nuts, but he chose too. Originally these were meant for normal nylocs but he made a worthwhile addition:

Lastly, the slots on the rear arms may need a minor file, they are designed to be tight because you don't want no flapping with 7" props on :)

Whilst it bears the resemblence to an F1 this is in no way warrantied or an Armattan Quads liable product.
